About the club...
Chingford Athletic Football Club was formed as recently as the summer of 2007 and we currently have three teams, two competing in the Essex Olympian Footbal League with the other in the Ilford & District Division 1.
The 2007-2008 season was very much a learning curve for the team as a steady mid-table finish in the Ilford & District First Division provided a good foundation on which to build on in future years.
The club's first close-season saw a few new names and faces join the squad which lead to the clubs first promotion in 2008-2009 after a 2nd placed finish in the league, as well as reaching two cup semi-finals.
The summer of 2009 saw plenty of changes and developments as the second team was set up and with great success, as well as a change of home as we moved to Elmbridge. In their debut season our 2nd team came runners up in Division 1 and won their league cup in front of 200 people at Wadham Lodge stadium. Our first team finished 3rd in their first season in the Ilford & District Premier Division and are now looking to push on and win their first sliverware in the upcoming season.
The 2010/2011 season was an eventful one, with a semi final for each team, a ground change, a Premier Division Cup and promotion to the Essex Olympian league.
Going into 2011/12 season see's Chingford Starting a new era of football at Matchday Centre Wadham, and the start of a new IDFL league team in the shape of Chingford 3rds. With both teams going up to the Olympian league this give us a chance to grow furthmore and keep a local younger teams in the IDFL. Both Essex Olympian league teams will be looking for a good campagne.
